120 Hz Metal board
The board draws with Metal at up to 120 Hz on ProMotion screens. Pick Tap, Swipe, or Hover controls. With Hover, tiles slide as your finger passes over them.
Optimal solver and replays
An IDA* search with a 6-6-3 pattern database finds the shortest solution on the phone. Replay any solve beside the optimal path, with your efficiency, your wasted moves, and a chart of moves to solved.
WCA-style stats
Single, mo3, ao5, ao12, ao50, ao100 and ao1000 with the standard trim. Personal bests, streaks, a history chart, and CSV or JSON export.
Game Center
Leaderboards for single, ao5, ao12, fewest moves, and TPS, plus achievements. Before a Standard solve posts, the app replays its move log from the scramble and checks the time and the move count.

What is the 15 puzzle?
The 15 puzzle, also called the fifteen puzzle, is a sliding puzzle: 15 numbered tiles in a 4x4 frame with one empty space. You slide tiles into the space until they read 1 to 15 in order. Speedsolvers race the clock to do it as fast as they can.
Is every scramble solvable?
Yes. Only half of all tile arrangements can be solved, and the app draws each scramble from the 10,461,394,944,000 that can. Every solvable position is equally likely.
What does optimal mean?
The optimal solution is the fewest moves that solve a board. The app finds it for every scramble, labels the board from Easy to Brutal, and replays your solve beside the optimal one, so you can see each wasted move.
How does Blind mode work?
Study the board before your first move. That move starts the clock and hides the numbers, so you solve from memory. A peek shows the numbers for one second. Your stats keep solves with and without peeks apart, and color and one-color themes apart.
What do I need to play?
An iPhone or iPad with iOS 18 or later. Slide Puzzle Speedrun is coming soon to the App Store.
